The group VARIOUS BLENDS or The VB's, was founded by members Eb.F/Rascue & Friz-B. Friends since grade school, these 2 got their start DeeJayin' local house parties at the tender age of 15. Shortly thereafter, the duo began doin beats and performing at local talent shows. They recruited another schoolmate (Rasco) while in college and formed Various Blends. Named after one of their aptly titled mixtapes which reflected the many styles from which they drew their inspiration, the journey began. The group then began performing throughout California which led to a 12"-inch release titled "The Dopess" b/w "Chill as I Flex". It drew much acclaim and helped launch the solo career of Rasco. After a short time off to re-group & adding the services of Big DJ Serg (SDJRX2), the VB's hooked up with Baraka Records/Caroline and released their first full-length CD "Levitude" in 2000. The release was well received but failed to breakthrough due to the closure of their label.
Once again they re-grouped and found another home with No Mayo Records where they recorded their second full-length CD "Fanna Burn" in 2002. The CD was never released as the label ran into financial trouble and folded in 2003. Today, the VB's are taking things into their own hands and releasing a 12"-inch series to be followed by a
remixed version of "Fanna Burn". Always busy behind the scenes, the VB's are involved in several projects including the Urban Umpires, SF Club Rockers & VBC Worldwide a soon to be released CD featuring music from the Various Blends Crew which includes: Mind Complex, Young Mizz, Prin-Sess, The Skool Yard & production from VB beat team Big DJ Serg & Friz-B.
